Gardener

We main aspect of this position is that it is within a small and dynamic company - meaning that the job can vary greatly - the candidate really needs to be polyvalent and adaptable, we can start the morning installing a roof terrace and the afternoon carrying out a rear garden clearance.

  • Working within a small team carrying out regular maintenance of approximately 40 gardens, these vary from window boxes to entire roof terraces and gardens.

    Maintenance duties include (but are not limited to):

    ✦ Mowing

    ✦ Weeding

    ✦ Trimming

    ✦ Deadheading

    ✦ Fertilising

    ✦ Treating for bugs and diseases

    ✦ Planting

    ✦ Watering

    Other duties include the ongoing care and passion to ensure that each day helps the gardens to thrive to the greatest of their ability.

    To anticipate to the best of your ability any upcoming issues regarding the weather (drought, heat-wave, snow, frost, etc) and plan accordingly.

    Attention to detail is key.

  • As this is London, the majority of the gardens we oversee are on the smaller side, but our clientele is extremely discerning and require our full attention to detail.

    We also over see window boxes, rear gardens, roof-terraces, commercial properties (balconies, entrance planting), street planters - for al-fresco dining, etc.

  • e properties we maintain are predominantly in Belgravia, Chelsea and Mayfair, we have a few properties outside of this remit but we do try to focus our works within these areas.

THE CANDIDATE

Ideally the candidate will have the following skill set:

  • Neat, tidy and presentable at all times - take pride in your appearance

  • Great team player

  • Good gardening knowledge, ideally 2+ years of gardening experience

  • Good knowledge of using various tools, but especially garden machinery

  • Good command of spoken and written English

  • A full, clean UK driving license (mandatory)

  • A passion for gardening, nature, the environment

  • Right to live and work in the UK

MOVING FORWARD

This is very much a role that has a lot of scope to develop. For the right candidate, we would like to see this roll grow into developing procedures, perhaps training interns, and also meeting with clients and designing your own projects.

DETAILS

  • Around 28K depending on the candidate’s skill set, personality and experience

  • Mainly work Monday to Friday

  • Hours of work - when carrying out installations hours are 5-6am to 1-2pm but regular hours will be 7am to 3pm

  • 21 days paid holiday plus bank holidays
